MY EXPERIENCE IN GLOBALIA

In a week we finish this intense course, and it is inevitable to look back and think about the day you started, on that first day of presentation where we were told how it would be the course and the sacrifice that would be. I started the course with enough doubts, flying about in my head thinking if I would be able to endure the entire course, unsure of knowing how difficult the practices would be without having done something similar ever. At the beginning it was difficult for me to adapt to the tools and procedures doing the homework, but little by little I found the trick and I was getting confidence doing the tasks. After these two years going to the workshop I feel safer doing manual work and more comfortable working with tools. All this is thanks to Vicente, our workshop instructor throughout the first year and part of the second, he has taught me many concepts, interesting things, how to handle tools, tips and tricks in aviation ... a very complete teacher who has guided

AIRCRAFT MECHANICS

In this post I will explain how was the course in Globalia and Son Pacs. We started with a presentation about what we were going to do in these two years. The explanation was clear and concise, the teachers commented the difficulty of our studies and its importance. We have four days of class in Globalia amd one day in Son Pacs. In Globalia we learn the differents modules and we do practice to achieve the licence of aircraft mechanic. And in Son Pacs we studied English and Module 5 and 6 first year, and second year we studied FOL and RET, plus English and Module 6. Firt classes were of electricity (Module 03) where we learned about the principal properties and principles of the electricity, we learned the differents magnitudes which the electricity works. We expanded the subject with Module 04 (Electronic), where we watched the differents components which we work and cotrol the electricity like diodes, transistors, capacitors... We worked in all this concepts in the workshop, where

MY WEEK #15

Wednesday, January 29 was my birthday, my idea was to celebrate on February 7, but the Saturday my friend organized a surprise party, we had a techno party that night and they wanted surprise me with a dinner in my house. I didn't expect, It was a good experience with my best friend. After the dinner we went to the party, there were a very good DJ's and the light effects were amazing. It was a nice night that I will never forget. The unic problem was at following day, I was so tired and I had to play a football match. I don't know how I could play the 90 minutes, but the important was the result, we won 3-2, the match was so strange, the two teams played so bad and they finished the game with two players less. The Tuesday was a different day, we went to the airport with the class. The school have bought a "new" light aircraft to work on it. This aircraft had a problem with the nose landing gear and the pilot had to do a emergency landing without the wheels. He h

MY WEEK #14

This weekend I had football match in Santa María, it was the craziest match which we have played. In the first half the result was 0-0, and we had all the occasions but we couldn't score. In the second half we started wining 0-1, but in ten minutes they had the two unic occasions of the match and they scored two goals, the result was of 2-1 loosing when they didn't create danger in all game except the goals. The last 10 min of match we played with defense of three to try to score one goal at least. In the discount time I took the ball and I made a play in the band that it finished in goal. 2-2 and less than 5 minutes to finish, the match was on and nobody wanted to lose. We had the last occasion of the match and we achived to score the 2-3 definitive,  it was a difficult game but we played until the finish and we achived the 3 points in a  complicated field. In the workshop we went to the cabin simulator, we had practice of ATA 38 (Water and Waste). We were learning the diff

MY WEEK #13

This week I returned to do calisthenics, this is based to do physical  exercise with your own body. The last year I started this sport with my class partner Vicente, but before summer we left to go. This year I want to take routine again, but my partner don't want to come back with me, fortunately I have more friends that they could go with me. The problem is that I am playing football, and now I will have training of calisthenics Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and trainning of football Tuesday and Thursday and match ob Sunday. I only will we able to rest one day at the week. The past weekend was "Sant Sebastià" and every year we make a barbacue, but this year was impossible because it was bad weather. With Felipe, we are learning the differents causes and reasons why accidents occur. And Jose María is teaching the sight and he

MY WEEK #12

The new year begins, it's time to go back to class, but I am not worried because Christmas were awesome! I spent my holidays with my family and my friends. Christmas is the most beautiful season of the year, the cities light up, people take the streets, the happiness is visible everywhere and the most important, family and friend come back home! The majority of my childhood friends study outsite the island and I can't see them very often, the same with my brother and cousins, so when they come to Mallorca I try to do all my plans with them. I just went to party two days, Christmas Eve and New year, the problem of New year is that the following day we have a family meal every year. The funniest thing of the meal is to comment the night with my cousins and brother, and to see who have more hangover hahahaha. This year all of us was so fresh, seems we are growing up. The worst of finishing the holidays is to say goodbye to my friends and my relatives. The come back of holidays w

MY WEEK #11

The lasts week of the year in Globalia were so long, one reason was that we started ATA 32 (Landing gear) with Fernando, this was a extensive theme and our teacher know too about all the aircraft's world. He can be talking all the 4 hours without pause and with the same rhythm, this can be so bored and it seems the time don't pass. In workshop we didn't stop, all the last classes we were cleaning the planes, my team was to clean the Pipper. Not only we cleaned, we sanded the zones of the aircraft with corrosion, and lately we applicated a anticorrosive treatment. The hardest part of the task was to clean the wings, because the plane is under a pine tree, this means two things, one is all the polen fallen and the second is the amount of bird feces, yeah I know, disgusting combination. The worst was to see the plane just as dirty the following week. The unique good thing of the week was that the friday was the day of the constitution and we didn't have class. Those wee
