HOW DO AIRPLANES FLY

Image
According to Bernoulli's theorem,  In any ideal fluid (without viscosity or friction), incomprehensible, in laminar regime of circulation through a closed conduit, the energy that has the fluid remains constant throughout its entire journey. In our case we will focus in the pressure. There are two types of pressure, the static and the dynamic, and the addition of these will be constant in all of points of the route. The dynamic pressure depends of the density and the velocity, and this velocity increase when the fluid of air passes by the narrowing formed in the top of the wing, this increase of the velocity lowers the static pressure, and this difference of pressures between the top and the bottom of the wing is the fact what makes it fly. The difference of pressure varies according the profile of the wing, we can take into account: -Leading edge: the edge more advanced. -Trailing edge: the edge more delayed. -Chord: line that links the leading edge with the trailing ...

IDEAL CLASSES

In the last English class we saw a film about a different way of teaching. In this post of my blog I'm going to talk about how I would teach the thrilling world of the aviation. To start, I would do all the classes in the workshop or outdoors, nothing of being enclosed for hours without material to practise and being seated. Stay in class for hours will only get students to stop paying attention. Another thing I think that it's important, during the explanations we should be able to watch and interact with the object of the explanation. Thus the concepts will be easier to lern, and the classes will be more interactive and entangled. I will do a feel trip every month at least. It's be important change the place so as not to lose interest and encourage students. Taking advantage of the airport's Globalia hangar we should go more times and be able to talk with the mechanics to know more about our future work. The truth it's that I enjoy the practise class, thes...

ANTONOV AN-225

Image
In the last class we saw five differents aircrafts, and I would like talk about the  Antonov AN-225. is a strategic airlift cargo aircraft  that was designed by the  antonov Design Bureau Company in the Ukranian SSR  within the Soviet Union  during the 1980s. It is powered by six t urbofan  engines and is the heaviest aircraft ever built , with a maximus take off weight  of 640 tonnes The Antonov An-225, initially developed for the task of transporting the Buran spaceplane . The first fligth of the Antonov An-225 was completed in 1988. The airlifter holds the absolute world record  for an airlifted single-item payload of 189,980 kilograms.  This plane is not made to carry passengers. It only has the capacity to carry the two pilots and up to four more crew members.

OBJECTS TO FLY (MISSION IMPOSSIBLE - A SECRET NATION)

Image
I will talk about anything that appers in moviment in the air in the film Mission Impossible - A Secret Nation. Explosions: thare are many scenes of explosions and we can see rocks, crystals and bricks. Water: when Ethan must jump into the refrigeration system among other cases. Tool: used by Ilsa Faust to hurt an enemy Car: spectacular crash with the BMW M5. Airplane: when Ethan need to enter in an Airbus A400m Motorbikes: in the persecution of Ilsa Fust we can see some motorbikes flying. And finally we can see guns and bullets flying in all the films of Mission Impossible.

MY EXPERIENCE IN GLOBALIA

Image
This post should be about one day in Globalia, but I would like explain my experience of this months in the world of aviation. When I came to Mallorca of Madrid, I didn't know what to do, and my uncle (who is helicopter pilot) decided to teach me the world of aviation. I went with him to Sky Helicopter and I could see the mechanics working, the first thing I saw was the tranquility and the organization of the place, the angar was impeccable and orderly. I really like the work environment. After I was looking for more information about this work, and I decided to try it. The first day, we had the presentation of the training cycle, I remember perfectly that day because all the teachers said that this work is very vocational and very hard. In that moment I was thinking "where have i gotten?", I went out scared, but I had eager to learn. The first week I could see that I wasn't the only person who didn't have vocation for aviation, and this fact gave me peace of mi...

ACCCIDENT AIR FLORIDA

Image
On January  13, 1982 the Boeing 737-222 of Air Florida airline fell at the 14th Street Bridge (killing 5 passers) over the Potomac river, in the accident 74 passengers and crew died, only 5 survivors . The fligtht route was Washington-Fort Lauderdale, with stopover at the aerport of Tampa, Florida. That day was so cold, and the snow was falling on the wingne, when this happens we need spray antifreeze. And one of the cause of the accident didn't have enough antifreeze in the mixture. Ice was formed on the wing and this reduce the lift of the aircraft. The pilots didn't have enough experience with 737. When they saw the ice, they activated the reverse to try to remove the ice faster. But they froze the thrust sensor and this didn't indicate the correct thrust. And the last cause was that the pilots didn't active the anti-ice system, with this system "on" the thrust sensors probably wouldn't have frozen.
