MY WEEK #12

The new year begins, it's time to go back to class, but I am not worried because Christmas were awesome! I spent my holidays with my family and my friends. Christmas is the most beautiful season of the year, the cities light up, people take the streets, the happiness is visible everywhere and the most important, family and friend come back home! The majority of my childhood friends study outsite the island and I can't see them very often, the same with my brother and cousins, so when they come to Mallorca I try to do all my plans with them. I just went to party two days, Christmas Eve and New year, the problem of New year is that the following day we have a family meal every year. The funniest thing of the meal is to comment the night with my cousins and brother, and to see who have more hangover hahahaha. This year all of us was so fresh, seems we are growing up. The worst of finishing the holidays is to say goodbye to my friends and my relatives. The come back of holidays w

MY WEEK #11

The lasts week of the year in Globalia were so long, one reason was that we started ATA 32 (Landing gear) with Fernando, this was a extensive theme and our teacher know too about all the aircraft's world. He can be talking all the 4 hours without pause and with the same rhythm, this can be so bored and it seems the time don't pass. In workshop we didn't stop, all the last classes we were cleaning the planes, my team was to clean the Pipper. Not only we cleaned, we sanded the zones of the aircraft with corrosion, and lately we applicated a anticorrosive treatment. The hardest part of the task was to clean the wings, because the plane is under a pine tree, this means two things, one is all the polen fallen and the second is the amount of bird feces, yeah I know, disgusting combination. The worst was to see the plane just as dirty the following week. The unique good thing of the week was that the friday was the day of the constitution and we didn't have class. Those wee

MY WEEK #10

In classes we started anti-icing and de-icing systems. The objective of these systems is to avoid the creation of ice in the surfaces of the plane. The ice can be a seriously problem in aviation.  Icing tends to occur at the leading edges of the wings and stabilizers, propellers, windshields, antennas, etc. This causes a distortion of the geometry of the supporting surfaces and as a consequence a decrease of the lift. For these reasons we need prevent the creation of ice (anti-icing) and remove it if necessary (de-icing). In the workshop we have worked in the boots of the wings and elevators leading edges. This involves sending the bleed air of the engine to the boots of the leading edges to break the ice formed. In English class we told about our bedrooms, in my case I spend little time in mine. I always study in the library, for this reason the unic time I spend in my room is to sleep and dress.

MY WEEK #9

On November 21, we had the exam of M.07A, a very long exam with differents parts. There was a exam of 1.500 pages, and the difficult was the development, this part had two different questions. One question about the tools that you need to put a rivet, and the second development about when working with electrical components or systems. There was a long day, we arrived at 7:30 and we left at 19:30! We stayed 12 hours in Globalia, we arrived without light and I came back home in the dark. The part of the test was simple and easy, all questions were logical and obvious. In theorical classes we started and finished a short theme, water and waste (ATA 38), with Ivan, a new instructor. He have a lot of experience and he was explaining us how to be a good maintenance mechanic. For a few weeks, my phone started to have problems with the baterry, when the weather is cold my baterry percentage plummets and this was a important fact to change the phone. I was all weekend doong reserchs and compa

MY WEEK #8

Another week in Globalia, we are continuing the explication of ATA 21 (Air conditioning) with Jaime.  It is interesting how it is possible to create an ideal temperature inside the plane, this is achieved thanks to the mixture of hot air and cold air. We get hot air from the engines, it is called bleed air, obtained in the first stage of the yocompressor. On the other hand, we get cold air from outside, called ram air. Basically we combine these airs in the heat exchangers to achieve the desired temperature. A clever way to achive the perfect temperature for the passengers and the crew. In nhe workshop, we have been polishing the practice notebook implementing it with the data of the plane manual. In the practice of this week we was to balance the horizontal helm, a simple job necessary to ensure that the helm have the appropiated angle of attack with the lines of air. The weekend was so boring, I was studying the M.07, I just left home to see the match of my team with friends, we p

AirPaint Painting your dreams Welcome to AirPaint, the aircraft company specialized in structures and painting. We know the difficult conditions in which an airplane can fly, and we work the wear of the paint and the fuselage due to the collision of particles at high speeds in flight. Our company is responsible to fix the structural damage of the aircraft, we also have the paint service to give a perfect finish and enlarge the life of the aircraft Our services include the entire Boeing 737 family and the AirBus A330 / A340 families. We are prepared for any structural arrangement, like bends, dents, notches...We have the newest technology of ultrasound to detect any imperfection in the skin of the plane and our employees are all experts in structural damages with a certificate B1.1 and they are sheet metal workers. We also work to eliminate corrosion in the different fuselage passages by applying different chemical treatments, we count with sprinkler machines to evenly distribu
