ACCCIDENT AIR FLORIDA
On January 13, 1982 the Boeing 737-222 of Air Florida airline fell at the 14th Street Bridge (killing 5 passers) over the Potomac river, in the accident 74 passengers and crew died, only 5 survivors . The fligtht route was Washington-Fort Lauderdale, with stopover at the aerport of Tampa, Florida. That day was so cold, and the snow was falling on the wingne, when this happens we need spray antifreeze. And one of the cause of the accident didn't have enough antifreeze in the mixture. Ice was formed on the wing and this reduce the lift of the aircraft. The pilots didn't have enough experience with 737. When they saw the ice, they activated the reverse to try to remove the ice faster. But they froze the thrust sensor and this didn't indicate the correct thrust. And the last cause was that the pilots didn't active the anti-ice system,with this system "on" the thrust sensors probably wouldn't have frozen.
